I would say that this would be the perfect time to try the VetriScience calming chews. As I mentioned on another thread, they do not trigger Tyrone's colitis issues. About one-half hour before they would anticipate your Dad's arrival I would give them one (or two, if needed), and play a game they enjoy to distract them. Maybe introduce a new toy?
