Opossums are actually very docile and rarely attack. They will show their teeth and hiss to try and scare away whatever is messing with them. They prefer to escape rather then fight. Not that they wouldn’t if absolutely necessary but they aren’t an aggressive animal. Back when we lived at our old house when Callie was much much younger there was one in our back yard it was showing it’s teeth and hissing certainly looks scary . Callie knew not to get to close and just circled it. I finally got her inside without issue. They are definitely not the most attractive animal lol.
