They say almost every thing can cause it lol seriously. Plastic dishes, certain food, allergies, environment, and so on. Joey has the kind that will actually leave tear stains while all of the others just kinda get booger’s. I clean the in the morning and at night. I just used a wet paper towel. If Joeys gets really bad I get the area wet and use a flea comb. When I first got Joey at 9 weeks the other 2 owners never cleaned his eye drainage and he had huge chunks of grossness that when between me and the vet and a tech got it cleaned there were sores from it eating into the skin and irritating it.
