That is exactly my point. I think it is very important to take things one step at a time, not just rush into something with no clue as to what I am doing. I can just see it now, handler/owners steps into a ring and is asked by another, "How long have you been doing this." Reply given is, "Oh, this is my first day. I just got my Yorkie last night." I think you have to build on your knowledge of the breed first before you can ever expect to appreciate any type of competition at all.
