I miss you all, too. Couldn't let December roll around before I touched what I feel is home base again and to see what's going with you all. It's wonderful to read this thread and hope for more respect for all our animal friends, even from the sadist sickos out there, if nothing more but for fear of Federal prosecution. And it's good to know that Federal law is out there for whatever it can do to help our innocent animal buddies who wind up victims of those sadists. What a heartening day it is!
There's still much to do, more to work hard for in prosecuting animal hoarders and puppy mill owners, pet shop sellers AND buyers(I can hope), shed/stall-raised factory-farmed animals, banning or at least phasing out zoos, petting zoos, where animals are kept tethered or penned up against their free nature and subjected to fear from hoards of little kids descending on them, inhumane treatment prior to slaughter for food livestock, etc. We've got to do better and fight for many, many more protections and much stronger laws for real prosecution/sentences for heartless offenders but this Pact Act is a start. And since I've not watched or read any news much these past few months, I might not have even heard of this Act anytime soon w/out your great thread. Thanks again for posting it.
