Love Dinky's Obituary

I have not been on Yorkie Forum for a long time. It was a helpful place when we first got our little guy in 2010, and I've lurked and read posts for years. It just feels right to come here to commemorate him.
Dinky was born in a litter of 2 in 2010. We went with the idea of getting his sister, but since Daddy fell in love with Dinky in the first 3 seconds of the visit, Dinky was the one who went home with us. He was the shyest dog in any dog park, grooming parlor, or neighborhood. He never got over that. He liked to eat what he liked to eat, but he was never about food that much. What he loved most was being with his human mom and dad. Getting love and attention from us was his idea of a reward. He loved to stare into his Mama's eyes. He snuggled with daddy; he especially loved to bury his nose in the bend of daddy's elbow. He had floppy ears. We talked to him all day. We think our status as retirees was perfect for him. We were rarely separated from him.
He was emotional. We never boarded him, not once. We just knew it would be too hard on him. He never got over thinking that tearing up a piece of paper towel was hilarious. For such a mild mannered boy, he sure could attack and punish a squeaky toy to death over and over. He was secure in our love. Dinky was a pretty healthy guy in August this year, but just 4 weeks ago, we were told that he had congestive heart failure. It progressed rapidly. He died with his little nose snuggled into the crook of Daddy's arm and with sound Mama crooning to him in his ear. We have to keep reminding ourselves that we were blessed to have him, and that the pain we are feeling now is a reflection of how much joy he brought to us.
