Abby being on the timid side will play a big roll in these two bonding, but this is also true with a dog that is not timid. It just takes time for the first dog to accept the new comer. As long as this new guy is not rambunctious and wants to pounce on Abby there should be no problem other then it always takes time to accept a new dog, and it doesn't happen over night. With this rescue being older and hopefully calmer then a wee lil puppy, bonding should be faster, it's all up to Abby.
But there is no difference in bigger yourkies other then their size, they still have their charming personalities and lil naughtiness at times.
