I actually came across a breeder here in California that had a litter of pure bred Yorkies that all came out completely different colors. She had one traditional (black and tan), one that was all gold, a traditional parti (white with tan and black markings) a parti that was white with only gold markings, and a chocolate Yorkie! What a sight that was, Lol. I asked her how that happens, and she said that it all depends on there genetic makeup of the dam and sire and the whole line. My first Yorkies mom was all tan, but all of her litters we're traditional and none were all tan like her. My current Yorkie has a small tuft of white on her chest and a little on her chin, which says there is a parti gene somewhere in her blood line. I had seen parti’s before, but never knew they were Yorkies, Lol |
