He looks like a bulldog with something mixed in. I'm a bulldog owner so I'm a sucker for pushed-in faces.
Collie rescue microchips their dogs themselves so it mustn't be too difficult. Of course, collies are MUCH bigger dogs so I'm sure it's a lot easier on them. I remember, though, that the vet couldn't detect my collie's microchip on the scanner and said it must have moved way out of position. It's probably best to have a professional do it.
