Yes it is to old to get his ears standing. I have one with huge ears and the other three all have floppy ears and I love them. The differences can be because of breeding. A good breeder stands to the standard look when a bad breeder doesn't. Also there is the possibility he could be a mix especially if he came from a bad breeder. All mine look different. Only one is AKC registered and he is a chocolate with floppy ears and 12 pounds, my other boy is 13 pounds with huge ears and a full tail with no papers and my girls are registered but not with a reputable registry and they are both 15 pounds with floppy ears.
