I do both Heartworm and flea year round as suggested by my vet. I think its more a cautious thing as he has had people only do one or the other in certain months and than forget and issues a rise.

My vet mentioned Nexguard Spectra but said it does not help with flea eggs (only adult fleas already present) tape worms. But it does seem to cover more than the Simparica so something to think about and ask my vet when I am need for a refill medication.
