Of course I know what ESA dogs are and what they do, but when a dog is allowed to closet-up with plane-or-roomful full of hapless strangers, each with their own needs, fears, instabilities, and issues, an inadequately bred-for-temperament, unassessed dog can read those nearby strangers around him, sense their fears, weaknesses, possibly setting him on edge, fearful of what they may do to him. Then, throw in a sudden calamity or issue that dog doesn’t understand or expect, he can suddenly react and go rogue.

Bred-for-temperament dogs with months of proper assessment, behavior modification techniques to redirect any improper reactions and conditioning to many sudden, scary, calamitous incidents, learns how to restrain, calm himself so he can better help his human, and passes his final exams, are the only dogs who should be allowed as ESA’s, if the disabled owner wants to act responsibly to other vulnerable folks who populate his/her immediate world. Not just any pet of a nervous, anxious, fearful owner should be allowed to travel out of a carrier in public for other vulnerable folks’ sakes.

The people that have ESA’s aren’t necessarily disabled they just have to have anxiety, depression, and other things like that. They are making more rules I believe with ESA on planes because of episodes happening. Honestly you can have those same issues with pets at pet friendly things. Not everyone with depression, anxiety and so on can afforded a dog that has had all the stuff done.
