We give the boys "special" chewing treats when we have to spend all day doing yardwork, etc. We are in and out of the home, and have the chance to monitor them as we work, as they line up by the glass sliding doors which run the length of the house. We also leave the doors open, with a baby gate, so they can see and hear us. They scramble for awhile when we hand out the goodies, and will drop their own treat, and snatch another, until they settle down and decide which one they want(or decide that it is more important to watch lizards, or squirrels, etc.). If we move beyond sight lines though, we remove them...you never know, and better to be safe than sorry!
