I also think there might have been an infection prior to plucking and it was not the cause. Mike's ears are very hairy and floppy and I don't pluck it. However, as per vet's advice I clean them thoroughly with a solution that has tea tree oil in it, whether he has a bath that week or not and also right after bath. If I skip a week there is a lot of wax and debris. I also shave his ears in and out and trim the long hairs that grow inside.
