I don't think you are over reacting at all. It is difficult to leave our furbabies for any lenght of time at all! So I understand where you are coming from!!!! But he will be ok!!!! I am sure your parents will take good care of him and will keep on spoiling him rotten!!!
When I left last year on vacation for a week, my friend stayed at my house, and she was getting sooooo irritated with me, because I kept calling home every single day and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day!!!! LOL! But when I did get home, OMG, Luigi was soooooooooo happy to see me!!! He wouldn't let me out of his sight for anything!! He was attached to my hip!!!!! Not that he wasn't anyways, but...!!!!! ANd he didn't want to go to sleep for anything!!! He just wanted to play and play!!! I loved it!!!!!! He missed me too, but he was ok!!!!! We survived!!! LOL
