To clear a confusing post:
I used kitchen shelf liner to place under my 2 Yorkies Food and Water bowls. Works wonderfully.
I actually found a thicker brown liner, substantial in thickness. I could just clean it in the bathroom Sink. I still have some after 16yrs..
This is why I wanted to clarify.
