The Grinder makes very little noise so it's not loud and scary. Her nails grow SO fast that I had to take her to the groomer several times between appointments just to get her nails trimmed. Now I can do them on a regular basis so she gets used to having them done.
I've tried 3 different grinders, pricey one from Dremel, a $12.99 grinder from PetSmart and the $20.00 Gentle Paws I found at Walmart. Tibbe does better with Gentle Paws by far. That cheap one from PetSmart is so mild it took forever, Dremel was too overpowering/fast/strong/loud for his noodle toes - he really squirmed. But it took weeks to get him comfortable around it, used to it and still he squirms most weekly sessions. He'd stopped that entirely during his mid-life but now that he's an elder dog, he doesn't as readily accept things he used to. Little tyrant!
