You definitely need to work on that habit before it gets too ingrained. I’m not a trainer but I was given the advice to provide the puppy with a treat or a preferred toy while I gently brushed her (not a brushing to detangle but more like petting). She eventually got used to the brush. It was a long battle to get her used to a brush, then scissors, the nail clippers and finally a regular clipper (terrifying!). She slowly adjusted and while she doesn’t necessarily LOVE being groomed, she tolerates it and I give her TONS of praise and her Greenie when we’re done.
