Since my neighbor took down their 6 foot high fence last summer hawks can now swoop, grab and take off with no obstructions in their path. Last year one flew 6 feet off the ground through my yard, that's how I saw they now have a clear path. I was on my deck when I saw this. Cody weighs 12 Lbs but by no means do I think he's to heavy to be carried off, just a grab and release from the talons of hawks can be fatal to any animal. So I did a little research on hawks. Red tail hawks can attack and kill a pet weighing 6 to 60 Lbs, there is no cut off of weight that guarantees the safety of pets. It was suggested tying silver streamers to tree branches to scare prey birds. I just googled this scare tape because it peeked my curiosity, I am planning on using something this summer for prey birds, it took me to Loews website, I will share what I found for scare tape

This warning is for Calif. for the tape that Loews sell, I would be very cautious when buying any scare tape, research before using.
