Also, today most reputable breeders are faithfully doing DNA testing on the potential pair to be aware of any health issue that may arise.

The best breeders are strictly breeding to improve the bred and it’s standards and are usually very involved in the showing of those dogs. Might want to take a look at the breed standards on the Yorkshire Terrier Club Of America. Lots of good information there.

A friend of mine, who had lots of breeding experience, once told someone who was thinking about breeding to be sure they had several thousands of dollars available because when a problem, or a C-section, hits it will eat up $$$$ fast!
