I purposely only walk Deuce around the perimeter of the property so he does not become familiar with the neighborhood. If we go for an extended leashed walk I take him in the car and go somewhere where he can't just get to himself. Thank goodness he no longer jets out the door but when "an unnamed man that I am married to" is not paying attention when going out the door, Deuce has been known to just go out after him. Then of course he will not come if just called. I keep a squeaky ball at every door. Deuce comes when I squeak it since he is ball obsessed.
