Gus is the most vocal dog that I have ever owned!!! He barks for a number of reasons, and each of his vocalizations can convey his moods...my husband and I can tell what he is trying to communicate. He, too, ignored coins, and considers a squirt gun to be an invitation to play "squirt water in my mouth Mom". We tried every humane thing that we can upon with no success. We FINALLY found Sentry Behavior Correction Spray on Amazon, and it works!
We only use it on a limited basis so that the novelty does not wear off. Also, we do let him "happy" bark at playtime, as well as to make us aware of visitors, etc. He is doing much better with stopping at those times that his barking is annoying/disruptive, and we are all much happier.
Good luck! |
