I subscribe to Petcare Plus which has a 24 hour vetcare line to speak to a tech or veterinarian for emergencies or second opinions. In addition it is a part of PetCareRX which provides pet medication at a low cost.
The annual fee is $50.00 per pet, however, groupon has had a discount for only $30.00 the first year.
This service has been extremely beneficial to me. There have been times I have called the vet line to get information regarding Thumper's behavior and any issues I am experiencing when his vet is not available or need an answer asap.
Additionally, the cost of some of Thumper's meds is extremely cheap. He is on 5 mg of Enalapril for blood pressure 2x a day. I get a 3 month supply for $12.00 (shipping included). My vet usually charges $45.00 and Chewy is $26.00.
The caveat is that the shipping takes 7-10 business days. Therefore for Thumper's other medication of Vetoryl I use Chewy since I get it in 2 days as I need it monthly and cannot wait as long for it to arrive.
For those that shop around for medication, (presciptions, flea and heartworm meds) this program has been very cost effective for me and could be helpful to others on a budget.
They are not always the cheapest but 7 out of 10 times I do find them to have the lowest cost. | Thanks for the tip
