Default URGENT 3-5 hours for dental extraction on 2lb yorkie

I dropped my baby off for dental surgery today at UC DAVIS (one of the best in the world) although I trust their experience I am worried. We were told a dental procedure for 2 extractions couldnlast as long as 3-5 HOURS! It seems quite a long time for a 2.9 lb baby to be under. I’m not an expert so I don’t know and I could be wrong. Does this sound correct?

He will have a dedicated board certified anesthetist monitoring him, as well as an IV, a heated water bag/pad under him and also pre-op bloodwork and possible heart workup.

I am a mess and beyond worried. I need my baby to come home tomorrow and I want to make sure I am doing what is best for him. Its taking everything I have within me to not drive back and pick him up.
