OMG...hold up. Your pup had urate stones???? Did your vet mention that urate are ONLY in yorkies with liver shunts!??!?

from the above link: "If urate bladder stones or crystals are diagnosed in a dog that is not a Dalmatian, the dog should be tested for the presence of a liver shunt."

I highly suggest you get your pup's bile acid levels checked! And, even if not elevated, I would pursue this with a specialist!!
