My 4 lb male Yorkie had recent surgery for huge bladder stone removal. It was tested and came back Ammonium Urate. Vet recommended Hills U/D for the rest of his life. I started it, but yorkie hates it ....dry and wet. Hills prescription diets have recently been added to recall list. Im afraid to use it any more. After researching problem, I have found out that feeding low purine diets might work for him.
Anyone out there that has a success rate of no return stones on feeding a homemade low purine diet for stones.
