I did not realize that giving the med to a dog that has heartworms could kill him and that scares the heck out of me. If the meds do fail the odds of it happening just before the next test are only 1 in 12 (8.3%). If the meds fail during any other month of the year, which is much more likely to happen, then we could lose our baby. I hope the meds failure rate is EXTREMELY low.
