The hawk and owl danger is very scary. Those of you with bigger yorkies should still beware. The breeder I got Maddie from had a sheltie which was about 16 pounds. A hawk or eagle tried to get it. This dog still has the scars to prove it and thank goodness it didn't break the dogs back. Even if you have your dog on a leash, if an owl or hawk swoops down, their talons can penetrate the dog's spine and kill it..so even if you were pulling on the leash to get it away from the bird, it would probably be too late! Thing is, they attack without warning...they are so sly and so quiet! Wishing everyone's yorkie safety against these birds of prey! |
