i have issues with people who say that you can never feed your dog anything but dog food. when my boyfriend was growing up in ireland, they just fed their dog table scraps. they didn't have the millions of dog foods that's available here, and the dogs were fine! the only thing my vet said was that if i do feed archie human food, to make sure to put it in his bowl and not give it to him by hand, so that he doesn't start to beg when I eat. archie loves canned carrots, which I cook warm. he also likes mashed potatoes, hard boiled eggs, steak, hamburger meat, boiled chicken, turkey, shepard's pie, cheese and green apples. I feed him innova wet food, so it's like the same stuff that's in there. And he eats Royal Canin kibble and milk bone dog biscuits for treats. he doesn't get human food every day, but if we make something that is suitable for him to eat, he gets a little bit in his bowl. his main food, though, is innova and RC. |
