Even big dogs that are not trained to be mean can go after yorkies or other small dogs. I think it depends on there instincts. Like some dogs are rabbit dogs so they might think a yorkie is a rabbit. I would keep my distance from that pitt bull nice or not it may view your little one has something to be hunted. I have nothing against pit bulls I think they are misunderstood and misraised. Also if you see their son trying to make the dog mean I report them to animal abuse (depending on what he's doing to make it mean).
