I highly doubt it is a food allergy because that is rare. I would either get a second opinion from a vet or talk to your vet about other options. It kind of concerns me the vets first move was food let alone a vegetarian food. You need to look at environmental allergies and medicines for that like apoquel or cytopoint. You may want to also look into testing the thyroid for thyroid issues which can also cause skin issues. Although I would get your pup off the vegetarian food I would not continue to switch the food because the food is not the issue and you are going to end up with tummy issues. I personally don’t think grains are a big deal and I like food company’s that have vets on staff, do feeding trials and have great quality control like wellness, Royal Canin and hills.
