I know, or rather hope, this is a hypological question, so I don't think I am going to run the risk of hurting feelings here, but...
If it's days before you could get to the vet for a pup, that would also mean it's days before you could get to the vet for the whelping female. In that case, you have no business breeding in the first place!!!
What would you do if the mother had an emergency during the delivery? Let her die?
