Give him a frozen kong filled with peanut butter when you leave. He will associate you leaving with yummy things like a kong. When I pick up Loki's kong and get the peanut butter out Loki BOLTS to his crate and sits there and waits for it.
I don't know about leaving him for that long. We trained Loki to go potty outside so when he was 16 weeks he could only be left alone for about 30-60 mins or he'd pee in his crate. He's almost a year and a half now and I still don't leave him for 6 hours - 5 at the most. I hope by the time he's 2 he can hold it 8 hours for emergencies when he needs to be left home and no one can watch him. I hate to do it because I can't feed him or give him any water while I'm gone. (If I leave water in his crate he drinks it all immediately and saves none, then he has to pee.) Anyway, I don't like pee-pads so I don't know how much that changes things.
Can he go 6 hours without eating?? At that age I fed Loki 3 times a day. Now he only eats twice a day.
Can you take him to your party?
