I feel for you in needing to rehome these babies. I had a 2 year old doxie that I have to rehome. He weighed 14 lbs (was supposed to be a mini). In spite of training sessions, he continued to pull on the leash when I had him outside for walks. In fact, he pulled me down a few times. I knew then that what I didn't need was for him to pull me down and break a leg or a hip. I found a wonderful Dachshund Rescue. Took him there and cried all the way home. Almost turned around to go back for him but I knew that wasn't the answer. He was adopted a few days later and the Rescue sent me a picture of him with him new family (which included another Doxie). Now I have my little 5 lb Yorkie Gidget and everything is working out for both of us. Still miss my JoJo and have his picture on the picture board in my bedroom. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions. I know you'll find them good homes. Going through a Rescue Agency is the best way because everything thing is done to make sure the home is safe and a good match. Keep us posted. |
