The story/life of poor Guinness just truly breaks my heart. I see the tragedy of surrendered animals all the time at the shelter where I volunteer - one's heart breaks for each and every one of them, seeing them forced to endure the situation they're in...helpless and so vulnerable. This is why I think it's *so* very important that when anyone decides to take a pet into their care, it should be done with the commitment and understanding that it's for life.
