Its tricky but it can be done. The thing you don't want to happen is for her to become even more clingy towards you which could cause her to lash out at the new dog, you may have to get a young dog but not a tiny pup because as nice as she may be, they can be really snappy if pushed and you don't want to put young pup in that position. I have several dogs and over the years, you have to have a seniority system and become the alpha of your pack and the older dogs who have been there the longest eat first, gets the first go at sofa cuddle time, etc. The dogs will fall in time. They are not children, equality confuses them so you have to be mindful of that with how you treat them and hopefully everyone will find their positions.
