Hey all! We have a 14-wk old male puppy named Attica. We have had him for 6 weeks, and been diligent with crate/limited roaming type potty training.
We were doing pretty well, only 2 pee accidents in the past two weeks, and he was consistently ringing the bell on the door to let us know he wanted to go out.
Then it started raining. We live in south Texas, and other then a few 60-90 minute storms, it hasn't really rained since we got him. It's now been raining most of 3 days, and he hasnt rung the bells once. Basically, I have had to pick him up, carry him (kicking and screaming - literally) outside, deposit him int he grass, and hold him there on the leash while he whines the entire time, until he finally pees.
If he gets a moment of freedom anywhere in the house other than his pen, he pees. Almost immediately. Even while eating. It means we can't play ball, tug, anything, because he will pee. Previously, we could easily play for 30 minutes followed by a trip outside without any accidents.
Apparently, he hates the rain, wet paws, whatever.
Any ideas for acclimating him to rain? This is making me dread winter.
