Phil, I am very sorry for your and Bella's heartbreaking loss of Walter.
My Yorkies lost one of their primary caregivers in June. My father had watched over them while I worked. Max and Teddy had the same routine, meal times, 24 hours a day companionship for 9 years. I didn't know what I was going to do.
My brother assured me that dogs adjust. He was right. Max and Teddy still miss their grandpa a lot, but we are all adjusting.
There are still hard moments -- Teddy cries at night sometimes like Bella. Breaks my heart, but we are all comforting each other.
I'm glad you and Bella will have each other.
