That does seem high based on the formulas. Even using the Plumb formula, that is 1.5 times the recommended dose. And all the other ratios I saw online are the same ones you saw - .45 to 1.8/lb . The prescribed dosage would be 10 times higher than that. I would start with a smaller dosage and see how he reacts. You can always up a dosage but once given you can't lower it.
