And to answer your question...if you cut your finger off, no it doesn't really hurt that bad because the damaged nerves cease to function
as much. And before you ask, it just so happens that YES, I HAVE CUT MY FINGER OFF! When I was 8, on a swingset, my right index finger about 1/3 of it and it was sewed back on....I CAN post pictures if you really want me to, or you could just take my word for it.
