So sorry your poor little one is still recovering. I know surgeons both human and vets can seem unkind and thoughtless. But if they think he is doing ok, perhaps you have to go with that. I know my dog’s eye surgeon never warned me the recovery would be so long and tedious after cataract surgery, so although I was upset and felt for my dog, I had no choice but to trust the vet, and in the end he was fine. I was a nervous wreck after it all though and the dog was also anxious!
But I agree you have also to go with your own instinct with your baby, you know him better than anyone. If you are concerned you are right to go back to the vet. Really though, surgery does not always recover according to expectations, and I am sorry your dog is having issues for so long.
As for toys, I can’t help there, my dog does not play with toys!
Healing thoughts and prayers are with you. Hang in there, this bad period too will pass. But I know you are getting towards the end of your rope.
