Default Any suggestions greatly appreciated

You may or may not remember this from a previous thread. My 9 year old son Ethan is high functioning autistic.

The past few months we have been having a problem with sensory issues and his high level for pain. He has over the last 4 months burnt his face first was on a lava lamp which, I threw out he touched the corner of his mouth to it. The he burnt high on his cheek bone on our heater just a little over a month ago it looked really bad his whole eye swelled up, by the time he got up the next morning it was down 95% or I would have taken him to the doctor. Then a few days after that he fixed some popcorn and then placed the hot part of the bag to his lip and burnt it. Now just this past week he touched our toaster oven and burnt the corner of his mouth again.

My main concerns are his high tolerance for pain he never tells us he has hurt himself on his face until I notice it the next day. I'm afraid that he may do permanent damage to his face or burn hisself so severely that I have to take him to a plastic surgeon. I took him to the doctor today big waste of time. He wasn't of any help at all. They did a urine sample to rule out diabetes, he said sometimes that can be a sign or diabetes. Thankfully there was nothing abnormal in the sample to suggest anything wrong.

I have threaten to take away his computer privileges, video games, and tv out of his room if he deliberately does this again. But, I'm concerned that he may hurt himself accidently and not tells us.

Has anyone been through anything like this? I'm going to the school in the morning to meet with his teacher and a counselor at the school, they were doing a little research to see if anyone else has had to deal with this and what they did.

Anyway, I'm just about at my wits end with him. I don't know if I can trust him with anything anymore. He only does this to his face. The doctor even had him to pull his pants down and check to make sure he didn't have any other places on him. I knew he didn't because he had just had a bath before we went to the doctor and I had already checked him out throughly.

My husband told him that if he didn't quit doing this that the police may come and take him away from us because they would think that we are hurting him and starting crying over that. Hopefully he won't do this again.

Sorry for rambling.

Thanks for listening.
