I dropped him off for surgery this morning. The doctor just called and confirmed my suspicions, the left eye is deteriorating rapidly and will most likely need to be removed in a matter of weeks or months. It's taking the exact same path as the right eye and he no longer has any vision in it. I made the decision to remove both eyes so he only has to go through one surgery and one recovery. We both felt confident this would be best for him.
It's so strange... I always worry I am overreacting or being overprotective with his health. But I've only ever been wrong once, and it was just a mistake of inexperience. You think after 8 years I would realize I actually know what's going on with my dog pretty well. |
