Every yorkie, as well as our little poodle, has done this with their kibble. Beau, the poodle, actually spits a few kibble onto the floor, then treats it like "prey" before he eats it. It is hysterical to see him crouch down and bark at the kibble, then bounce around and repeat...I was always told not to play with my food when I was little, but Beau enjoys his little mealtime games several times a week. At 11.5 years it makes my husband and I smile to see a little of his "puppy" self still there! After mealtime it is back to his bed for another long nap.
