It's smelly and expensive but he loves it, so I will oblige.

I have concerns about his left eye. It seems to have deteriorated rapidly. The right eye went from "oh hey that's a mature cataract" to "the eye needs to be removed" in a period of 4 months. All the specialists originally told me not to remove his left eye back in May, but I'm no longer seeing any reaction to light and the iris has started to get the blue-ish ring like his right eye. I'm also starting to see redness in the globe. He has been treated with flurbiprofen the whole time, and his pressures in that eye have never been high, so I'm not sure what's causing it. I am going to ask them to test the pressure in the left eye and see if it has changed significantly from the tests he's had over the last 6 months.

So while he is becoming a one-eyed dog on Friday, I suspect he may also become a no-eyed dog sooner rather than later. That said, he seems to be very happy, very healthy, and back to being his bossy self.
Oh gosh, poor little one...and my heart really goes out to you .

With the good eye, I'm sure they've recently done a Schirmer tear test...? Along with cataracts (and fluribiprofen), my Wylie needed prescription-level support for dry eye as well (Optimmune, and then later Tacrolimus).

Please keep us posted...keeping you in my thoughts.
