That is often the problem with PLN...if people don't do routine tests on their pups and only rely on symptoms of illness to take a pup to the vet, it can be deadly. PLN is sneaky and if there are symptoms, it is usually too late.
As for vets and UT I have to say there are quite a few who don't know about Tobias either. Or Willard at A&M. Hard to understand, but it does happen if they don't stay up to date on the latest vet news. Happens in any profession as you know. |
Oh, but let me add this: any vet who does not recognize protein in urine as an issue is concerning. I don't know that this is true with this vet .... waiting to hear from the OP about whether or not it was discussed.
