PLN (protein losing nephropathy) is kidney disease, but is much different than the kidney disease many people think of when initially diagnosed. The increased B/P could also be related to that.

Cushings is hard to diagnose....I just wonder why the focus is on that since he doesn't have a lot of other symptoms. Did his blood work suggest it?? IE: elevated glucose and/or liver enzymes .. usually ALP

I would definitely be asking the vet about PLN! If he has it, he needs to be on medication or it will get worse much faster!

Anytime there is protein in the urine but no UTI, a UPC test should be done to look for PLN. Linda as you know, my foster German Shepherd Tucker died bc of PLN. Horrible disease, and often not really treatable if it's been undiagnosed for some time.

Sadly, the vet she's using does not seem to be a skilled diagnostician at all. He hadn't even *heard* of U of Tennessee and Jack Oliver !!! And he's trying to Dx CUSHINGS, of all things, for petes sake - and the fact he doesn't even know what he's doing with the testing (never hearing of U of Tenn!) is just plain scary.
