I use a plain water on a clean cloth to dab at that crud you find in the corner of her eyes. Once it is nice and damp, it should loosen up. You may want to use a fine-toothed comb to make sure you get it all out.

LOL--I don't know about hanging tongue syndrome. You can have the vet chick her bite to learn if it she has a little overbite, etc. (That is usually knowable at 6 or 7 months.) It's good to know that anyway.
