I'm not sure, the internet says it can be brought on by stress and we had strangers at the house yesterday purchasing some furniture. But it seems like if that was the cause he wouldn't have gotten violently ill 12 hours later. They originally thought he was having an anaphylactic reaction to something because his paws were very swollen. I didn't think it was that because he's had those before and usually his face swells up like a balloon.

I just went and visited him. He is now stable but he's definitely not ready to come home yet. He was spaced out and he had clearly vomited recently. I asked about the ultrasound and they said it will most likely be performed tomorrow. I thought the ER doc was going to do it and the radiologist was going to look at it tomorrow for an official interpretation, but I must have misunderstood. The whites of his eyes were very red when I visited and I asked them to keep an eye on that.

I have not been separated from him overnight in many years. At least 4 or 5. And I have never spent a night in this house without him. But I know he's in the place he needs to be. I think it's going to be a rough night, and I'm not sure if I will go to work tomorrow. I haven't eaten either, and I'm not sure I want to eat, I just want to fast forward to whenever he can come home.
