The dewormer (Drontal Plus) is a broad spectrum dewormer and targets many worms including tapeworms, etc. Metronidazole kills bacteria and treats Giardia (another parasite).
I have not reintroduced any medications at this time, the internal medicine vet wanted to start Pax on aggressive steroid and immuno supressive therapy, but we did not go down that road because Pax's diarrhea stopped.
Our regular vet suggested the same as they could not find any parasites in the fecal or diarrhea panel.
It could also be a food allergy to perhaps (chicken), but the boys have been eating home cooked chicken breasts for years. I guess it's possible a sudden allergy can develop from what I read. |
